Barbados - Things to Do if you only have a short stay

So...you already have your bags packed and now you are ready to take that trip to Barbados!! So how do you make the most of your stay and see as much as possible in Barbados whilst you are here? See 5 things that you must try in Barbados: 1) Catamaran Cruise - Take a lovely cruise on the West Coast on one of the lovely catamaran tours. These tours include lunch and you can enjoy some sweet soca or calypso music as you cruise away on a relaxing and fun filled cruise, stopping at different points along the way and enjoying a snorkel with some of the largest and friendliest turtles ever!
2) Safari Tours - Jump on one of the Safari Tours that take you through the rugged outback and off the beaten path in Barbados allowing you to get a true countryside experience with some of the most scenic and picturesque views along the way and a sumptuous lunch as part of the package on the safari tour. Who knows along the way you may be able to stop and pick some juicy fruits growing throughout the countryside.... all making the tour that much sweeter. 3) Hiking - The Barbados Nature Trust 'Hike Barbados' which normally occurs on Sunday mornnings and evenings allow you to trek off the beaten track whilst experiencing the history of Barbados along the way. No cost associated with this hike when last I trekked. 4)Beaches - This is an obvious choice :) With the lovely crystal clear waters stretching from the country all the way to the south and west coast that are too numerous to mention. Some of the popular ones would be Miami Beach, Crane Beach, Bath beach, folkstone and then the more quiet ones that would be good for relaxation. Which beach is best? I'll let you experience them for yourself and come back to tell me. 5) Barbados Nightlife - There is a vibrant nightlife that exists in Barbados. You might want to stop in ST Lawrence gap which has everything from fine dining restaurants, to hot party spots, to a good lime and a couple of drinks at one of the bars some which have live entertainment on certain nights - all in walking distance in St Lawrence Gap, which is located on the South Coast. While on the South Coast one night you MUST also find your way out and visit Oistins on Friday and Saturday nights, this is like a big outside fish fry where you get to sample some local cuisine and a wide selection of fish whilst amidst the interaction with the locals and plenty tourists alike.... a hive of activity at Oistins on Friday nights...come out and enjoy the atmosphere. 6) Oops...I said five (5) things.... well look out for posts on our Festival called Crop Over / Kadooment in Barbados where you can get to jump in a band and 'wuk-up ya waist'...that's bajan for dance and go down to the ground...:) This occurs on the first Monday in August but there are a lot of activities and fetes that lead up to this starting from as early as June.... Coming soon so you are in time to book your next trip! Look out for more posts and pictures of these activities above, along with more great things to do that match every budget! Should there be anything I missed that you need to find out about Barbados....just ask :)
